PICNA and Unity Productions Foundation hold "The Sultan and the Saint" Premiere in South Carolina4/3/2017 PICNA and Unity Productions Foundation (UPF) held the South Carolina premiere of the much-awaited movie"The Sultan and the Saint", about Muslim Christian peacemaking, at the Midlands Technical College, NE campus in Columbia on Sunday, March 12, 2017. The film was enjoyed by an enthusiastic audience comprising of community leaders, faith leaders, intellectuals and professionals from Muslim and Non-Muslim community. This story is set in the times of the Crusades when St. Francis of Assisi risked his life by walking across enemy lines to meet the Sultan of Egypt, Al-Malik Al-Kamil. A team of PICNA volunteers organized the event that commenced with Qur'anic recitation and an inspirational but brief talk by Imam Bashir. Tayyaba Sadiq then welcomed the audience while Aisha Siddique spoke about PICNA programs and activities. Finally, Daniel Tutt, Director, Outreach and Producer, UPF, addressed the audience and introduced the work of UPF and their famous award winning movies before screening the "The Sultan and the Saint". He also distributed free DVD's of UPF movies to the participants. Light refreshments were served at the program.
