PICNA held its first event in Columbia, South Carolina, entitled 'Sharing Ramadan' at a local mosque - Masjid Noor ul Huda - on Thursday, August 25, 2011.
This much anticipated event was termed as highly successful on all counts. A large number of community members participated in the program. Interfaith leaders, current and former heads of civic organizations and media representatives witnessed, first hand, how Muslims practice fasting and learned the deep meaning behind this vital form of worship.

Highlights of the evening included a scholarly talk by Imam Louai Elkhatib and a presentation on PICNA. ‘Iftar’ and dinner on this occasion was hosted by PICNA.
