This much anticipated event was termed as highly successful on all counts. A large number of community members participated in the program. Interfaith leaders, current and former heads of civic organizations and media representatives witnessed, first hand, how Muslims practice fasting and learned the deep meaning behind this vital form of worship.
Expressions of solidarity, support and cooperation for 'PICNA's mission and future events came from heads of all organizations invited on this occasion, including:
- The Carolina Peace Resource Center
- USC - Department of Religious Studies
- South Carolina Christian Action Council
- World Affairs Council, Columbia
A detailed report on this event was published in 'The State' newspaper on the front page of their Metro section in their Saturday, August 27 issue.
