The management of PICNA – Peace and Integration Council of North America, wishes to express their deep sorrow, shock and grief over the tragic events at a Sikh Temple outside Milwaukee, Wisconsin on the morning of Sunday August 5, 2012.

We are especially saddened that this heinous crime was perpetrated at a place of worship, resulting in loss of precious human lives.
“Whoever slew a person, except as punishment for murder or for corruption [done] in the land, it is as if he had slain mankind entirely. And whoever saves one - it is as if he had saved mankind entirely.” – Qur’an 5:32
Our hearts go out to the bereaved families as we express solidarity with them and indeed with the whole Sikh community throughout the US as well as the world over in their time of trial and tribulations.
PICNA condemns this senseless, inhuman and barbaric act in the strongest terms and considers it a crime against humanity, in direct contradiction with the teachings of any major faith, as well as against American values and principles.
