It is most disturbing that these unfortunate events occurred around 9/11 and at a time when the renowned Islamic scholar and author of “Fatwa (Islamic ruling) on Suicide Bombings and Terrorism”, Dr. Tahir ul Qadri, was launching his Fatwa in Denmark and addressing a three day European Peace Conference there. Such efforts are examples of how Minhaj ul Quran International (MQI) as well as PICNA strive to contribute to world peace, goodwill and mutual understanding.
PICNA’s President, Chaudhry Sadiq, in his recent interview with WACH FOX TV, called upon Muslims to respond to such inflammatory acts with dignity, tolerance, compassion and wisdom. (A link to his interview can be found at the end of this statement).
PICNA calls on all people of conscience as well as intellectuals and community and interfaith leaders in the western world, to speak out more effectively against such inhuman, unethical and irresponsible acts that defame any faith and the revered prophets. PICNA simultaneously calls for restraint, tolerance and a dignified response in the Muslim world to stem this vicious cycle of violence and destruction.
