The three-day conference organized by IARF – International Association for Religious Freedom - at the popular Hilton Head Island resort from Friday, 3rd February to Sunday, 5th February proved to be a great success. ‘PICNA’s active participation was an outstanding feature of the conference held as a part of the World Interfaith Harmony Week declared by the UN General Assembly.

The worship service on Friday evening opened with the recitation from the Holy Qur’an by Chaudhry Sadiq, President, PICNA. Chaudhry recited the first chapter of the Holy Qur’an titled ‘Al-Fatihah’ or ‘the Opening’, translated it and then elaborated on the deep significance of this comprehensive prayer. On Saturday, ‘PICNA’ arranged an elaborate exhibition on ‘Muslim Heritage’ depicting contributions by Muslim inventors, scientists and scholars to world civilization throughout the history. Dr. Waleed Elansary, from Xavier University, Ohio, who is also a PICNA Board Member, delivered a highly educative lecture on ‘Islam and Interfaith’ that kept the audience captive for an hour. Earlier, during the lunch period, Chaudhry Sadiq, President, PICNA addressed the conference participants and briefed them about PICNA’s vision, mission and its comprehensive programs.
